An AGM to start an exciting new year

AGM and talk

The AGM of the Friends takes place this year on Tuesday 19 April at 7.30 pm, at St Edmunds, Fishergate.  As well as reporting on Friends’ activities over the last year, we’ll have information for you on recent developments with the Trust, including new tenants for several churches, and an anticipated Heritage Lottery Fund grant which will enable us  to put on a programme of events –some this September in connection with Heritage Open Days, but many more next year on 30 April and 1 May, when the Trust and the Friends will be coordinating a major weekend of activities with a group of partners, including we hope those responsible for the other historic churches (those still in use for workship, and three administered by the Churches Conservation Fund) in central Norwich.

We shall be looking to greatly expand our volunteer base over the next few months, including providing training to volunteers to act as guides for our churches, so this is an exciting time to become involved (or more involved) with us.  If you would like to be kept informed of plans as they unfold, but are not able to make the AGM, please email us on

The AGM is open to all, although of course only Friends members are entitled to vote on business matters.  The fairly short formal meeting will be followed by a talk by Stephen Critchley, the Trust’s tenant at St Clement’s, on his work as a stonemason and on the Guild and training activities which are being developed.

St Edmund’s is a very comfortable venue, and refreshments will be served.  We hope to see you there.
